The China Post reports that local Taiwanese firms Richtek, Elan, TSMC and eGalax_eMPIA (EETI)  all expect a good Q3.

Richtek’s deputy general manager Guo-Cheng reckons that the new Wintel combo of Win 8 and the latest Intel PC chips won’t stimulate demand in the PC market but that many new TV panel-related products will drive the chip market.

Elan is looking go touch-screen laptop, smartphone and tablet businesses for growth, and EETI poins to otuchscreen laptops.

TSMC is looking for a 20% growth year after record sales years in 2011 and 2012. CEO Morris Chang says he expects an improved H2 overall economic climate compared to H1.

Chang pointed to unexpectedly high demand for mobile devices in mainland China.
