亚洲AFR方程式系列赛在本周末的第二个回合，即第十二回合在今天中午的12点30分正式开赛。按照第十一回合的比赛结果来排位，白石勇树再次在杆位发车，PS赛车队的林邦则在第二发车位。亚历山德拉和凯飞车队的佐伯和洋则分别在第二排，即第三和第四发车位。虽然林邦以他典型的快速起跑发车，但白石勇树坚守自己的杆位，在一号弯压住林邦并到比赛结束都一直保持领先的位置。同时，虽然PS车队的亚历山德拉在昨天的排位及比赛均有十分出色的表现，但由于今天起步不是特别理想，被凯飞车队的佐伯和洋和霜野诚友一起超越排在第五位。比赛持续到第二圈，依然保持着同样的排位。亚洲赛车队的张世成紧跟在亚历山德拉后面排名第六，然后是FRD车队的李静雯，凯飞车队的翁厚垣和亚洲赛车队的周广林。这个排位一直没变，直到比赛还剩最后两圈的时候，张世成的赛车由于打滑而落后排在第九名。但他很快返回赛道并在最后一圈的一号弯超越了队友周广林。
最后一圈的排位也给当时排在第三位的佐伯和洋，第四位的霜野诚友和第五位的亚历山德拉的拉锯战画上了句号。纵观整场比赛，亚历山德拉在不佳的起步后不断的追赶，慢慢拉近了她和霜野诚友之间的距离。虽然霜野诚友在最后几圈也一直努力守住自己的位置。但在最后一圈，亚历山德拉上演了一幕精彩的超车，超越霜野诚友并上升到第四位。但非常遗憾亚历山德拉和林邦因为一些技术问题，赛后在成绩上每人加罚10秒，最终亚历山德拉还是排在第五名。虽然林邦也被加罚10秒，但由于他与第三名的佐伯和洋拉开了16秒的差距，所以即使加罚也没有影响他夺得第二名的成绩。
2011年AFR方程式系列赛国际组的前三名已经在星期六的正赛后出炉。林邦夺得了年度车手总冠军，白石勇树夺得年度车手亚军，而年度车手季军则由女将亚历山德拉获得。2011年亚洲AFR方程式系列赛亚洲组的前三名的悬念一直留到星期天的比赛。第十二回合的成绩让凯飞车队的白石勇树最终获得亚洲组年度车手总冠军。PS车队的亚历山德拉和凯飞车队的佐伯和洋则分别获得亚洲组年度车手的亚军和季军。2012年亚洲AFR方程式系列赛即将在几个月后开始新一轮的赛季，各车队稍作休整后必定会为新赛季而备战。PS车队和凯飞赛车队会再次为冠军之位开始他们之间的争夺战吗？亚洲赛车队又会不会像前几年一样重夺这个系列赛的冠军头冕呢？请继续关注2012年亚洲AFR方程式系列赛吧！
Today's second AFR Series race of the weekend, Round 12, began at 12:30pm under sunny and cool conditions. Due to the finishing results of yesterday's Round 11 race, Yuki Shiraishi started on pole with PS Racing's Lepold Ringbom 2nd on the gird, Alexandra Asmoeabrata 3rd and Champ's Kazuhiro Saeki next to her on the 2nd row, in 4th.Ringbom got off to one of his trademark fast starts, but Yuki was able to squeeze by him going into turn one to get in front and lead the race from start to finish. Meanwhile, despite an incredible performance yesterday, PS Racing's Alexandra Asmasoebrata dropped back at the start and was passed by Champ Motorsport drivers Kazuhiro Saeki and Shigetomo Shimono. Going into the second lap of the race the drivers remained in that order, with ART's Tim Teo following Alexandra in 6th, then FRD's Diana Rosario, Champ's Victor Yung, and ART's Thomas Chow. The order remained the same until with just two laps to go, Timothy Teo spun and dropped to 9th place, but managed to get going again and got by ART's Thomas Chow going into turn one on the final lap of the race.
The last lap also brought a conclusion to the race-long train of 3rd place Kazuhiro, 4th place Shigetomo, and 5th place Alexandra – throughout the race Alexandra made up for her slow start by slowly closing the gap between herself and Shigetomo, with Shigetomo having to strongly defend his position in the last few laps of the race to prevent her getting past. However, in the very last lap of the race, Alexandra finally pulled off a brilliant pass on Shigetomo to finish in 4th place. Unfortunately Alexandra and Ringbom received 10 second post-race penalties for a technical issue which moved Alexandra to 5th place, though Ringbom's finish of 2nd was not affected due to a strong 16 second gap he built up on 3rd place Kazuhiro over the course of the race.
While the results of the AFR Series International Category were decided yesterday with Ringbom crowned the 2011 AFR Champion, Yuki Shiraishi 1st runner up and Alexandra Asmasoebrata 2nd runner up, the 2011 Asian Category AFR Champion positions were still up for grabs going into today's final race of the season. Due to the results of today's race, Champ Motorsport's Yuki Shiraishi was crowned Champion in the Asian Category, with PS Racing's Alexandra Asmasoebrata 2nd and Champ's Kazuhiro Saeki 3rd. With the 2012 AFR Series season starting in just a few months, the teams will soon start preparations for next year. Will PS Racing and Champ battle again for glory?
